Why Give to St. Brendan's?
In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told his followers, “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Perhaps the reverse is also true: the most important reason for contributing to the mission of St. Brendan’s is because this is where our heart, our enthusiasm, and our commitment lie.
The Episcopal Church treats support for the church as so much more than contributing money. It’s also about setting apart some of our valuable time for worship and devoting some of our God-given talents to ministry and mission.
But some costs are simply unavoidable. Our building must be heated and cooled; our copier must be maintained; our modest staff must be fairly compensated for their service; Sunday School materials must be purchased. The Vestry constantly monitors expenditures but there must be revenues to cover those expenses and so we offer our members, friends and guests various ways to support us financially.
