Justice Ministry
St. Brendan's Justice Ministry was established to answer God's call by working for equality, justice, and transformation. We support and encourage civic responsibility, the reduction of gun violence, immigration and the stewardship of our earth. During our meetings, we collaboratively decide to promote projects that support our mission and we invite others to join us.
Over the years, we have sponsored guest speakers and public forums to raise awareness on climate change, race relations, gun violence, human trafficking and other issues. We lead a caravan of parishioners to downtown Pittsburgh to carry the St. Brendan's banner in the annual Pride Parade. We make lunches for needy youth, register people to vote and collect money for the homeless during Lent. In 2024 we filled 96 school backpacks for children of families that couldn't afford them.
The challenges never end, but the Justice Ministry's desire to put faith into action never will either!
